For anyone who doesn’t know me I drive the Number 19 Pinto MiniStock at Santa Maria Speedway. We just had our Banquet, and are now getting things back together for 2011. I started out racing at SMS back in 1987 in the Hobby Stock Division. Eventually I stopped driving and started crewing for other people. A few years ago I was helping Rob Gilbertson, he had gotten a Toyota and talked me into driving his old Pinto.
There are 2 things I really enjoy about this class. First is helping the young drivers, If I can answer any questions or give them pointers, Im more than happy to. And the 2nd is how well we all get along. So if any of you are reading this be sure to come by and say hi.
Well last Year I missed the First 2 races and wound up 6th in Points. With 1 win and several top 5s. With if I remember correctly a worst finish of 8th. And Finished up the Year with a 2nd at the Mini Nationals.
So the Plan for 2011 is to run all the races and see how things work out.
